The Junior and Senior Infants enjoyed every minute of the lead-up to Christmas.
As soon as we put up our classroom Christmas tree, our elf on the shelf arrived! We couldn't wait to get inside each morning to find out what he was up to. We learnt lots of songs for our whole-school Christmas carol service which took place in the church. We enjoyed reading Christmas- themed stories such as 'Hansel and Gretel' and 'The Gingerbread Man'. One of our Senior Infant boys very kindly made a beautiful advent wreath for the classroom- we coloured in one of the flames each week in the countdown to Christmas. We organised our own 'Mulhussey Toy Show' where we did a show and tell of our favourite toys. We also made sure to fit in plenty of Christmas art including making our own wooden baubles and handprint keepsakes. After all our hard work, we had two lovely surprises: a visit from the man himself Mr. Santa Claus, as well as a movie and popcorn treat!
