Creative Workshops at Mulhussey
Our school has been chosen to take part in the Creative Schools Initiative which is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland. Valerie, our schools Creative Associate, came to visit our school and pupils today. There was lots of lovely discussion about what they children think creativity is and how we can be creative in school and at home. Valerie went to each class and every pupil got to create beautiful pieces that they can use in either school or home. Infants, First and Second class made an art college using natural materials. First and Second class also got the opportunity to design and decorate wind chimes. Third and Fourth class created bug hotels and Pupils in Fifth and Sixth class constructed and decorated butterfly houses. The butterfly houses where placed around our outdoor classroom, where they will hopefully get sunlight, shelter from the wind and be close to the plants. The children enjoyed being creative with Valerie today.
