The children from 3rd & 4th Class enjoyed a class trip to the Lidl Farm to Fork Experience in Newbridge today. The children visited a large vegetable garden where they learned about growing potatoes, beetroot, onions and cabbage. They were then taken to a polytunnel to see a variety of fruit and herbs growing and to learn about the importance of pollination for the growth fruits such as strawberries and tomatoes. They then visited and fed some cows and learnt about dairy products that we eat. Finally, the children enjoyed a train ride through the enormous distribution centre where they could see crates of a variety of food waiting for Lidl lorries to bring to the shops where we can purchase them.
