Here's a snippet of what the Junior and Senior Infants got up to during Maths Week- a colour hunt, making sets, counting towers, giant snakes and ladders, playing interactive games from Topmarks, exploring measures using the sandbox and making our own patterns. We learned a number rhyme called 'Five Speckled Frogs' and performed it over the course of the week using stick puppets.
We also used our 'Maths Eyes' to look for shapes, numbers and patterns in the world around us- we came to realise that maths is everywhere! We especially enjoyed the visit from 1st and 2nd class as they challenged and supported us in solving many different maths problems.
