Roald Dahl Day and the Meath Book Festival
31st Oct 2023
Junior and Senior Infants celebrated Roald Dahl's birthday by listening to extracts from one of his most popular books: 'Matilda'.
As there are very few illustrations in the book, we used our visualising skills to imagine each scene as teacher read aloud. Afterwards, we took turns to improvise key chapters from the book including 'The Trunchbull' and 'Bruce Bogtrotter and the Cake'. There were giggles aplenty!
We also got the opportunity to tune into two events as part of the Meath Children's Book Festival- we loved watching and listening to 'The President's Cat' and 'Cá bhfuil Teidí?' being read by real authors! Thanks to Meath County Libraries for organising the events.
