Whole School Assembly in November

28th Nov 2023

Today we were reminded that during the month of November, we remember and pray for all of our loved ones who have passed.
We learned about and look forward to the season of Advent which will begin next week.

5th and 6th class entertained us with a beautiful rendition of the Christmas song 'Rockin Around the Christmas Tree' which is one of the songs that they have being practising with Deirdre Shannon from the BLAST initiative.

Jim and Joshua from our Students Council explained to the children, the new biodiversity nature/garden kit that the school has recently received from Meath County Council and is now available for all the different classes to use.

We took a close look at the new Lego resources that our school has received because we are one of eleven STEAM schools to be chosen in County Meath. Eleanor from Junior Infants and Eloise and Holly from 3rd & 4th Class explained how they have used these new resources already during a Lego workshop in school last month.

We acknowledged and celebrated Cian's 1st place award in a recent horse show-jumping competition where he represented our school.

It was 1st and 2nd classes turn to teach the rest of the school about a famous composer. They chose Mozart and were wonderful explaining Mozart's life and journey through music to us.

We celebrated Joshua and Ava from 6th class for their acts of kindness towards the Junior and Senior Infant children. Their acts of kindness were highlighted by the parents of the children to class teacher Ms Kearns.

We looked at the new Cinéaltas flag that our school has recently received from the Minister for Education Norm Foley for all the work we have done so far and continue to do to promote and maintain an atmosphere of anti-bullying in school.

Finally, we finished our assembly with a rehearsal of 'The Greatest Gift' song which will be sung during our Carol Service which will take place on the 14th December at 7pm in Kilcloon church.
