Whole School Assembly (October) and Student Council Elections
Each month we hold a whole school assembly where we come together to discuss themes, share our learning across the school and celebrate pupil successes.
This month we held our student council elections. Our out-going student council representatives received their thank you gifts for their help and hard work last academic year. Our in-coming representatives from 3rd - 6th class were awarded their student council badges which they will wear on their uniforms. Elections were held in classes this week with exceptional suggestions and ideas brought forward by pupils willing to be elected as class representatives. Following an election, one pupil from 3rd - 6th class were elected. The aim of our student council is to bring the voice of the student forward as we move through our academic year.
Well done to the representatives from each class who will form the Green School Committee this academic year.
We also enjoyed singing Ireland’s Call as a whole school as we marked Ireland’s participation at the quarter final stage of the Rugby World Cup.
Well done to 5th and 6th class and soloist from 6th class who led us in the song ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary.’
At each assembly each class has an opportunity to present about a famous artist, inventor or composer. Thank you 3rd and 4th class who made a presentation about famous inventor Thomas Edison.
