World Water Day

22nd Mar 2024

We celebrated World Water Day today, a day held on the 22nd of March every year. This day celebrates water and raises awareness of those living without access to safe water. The core focus of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: Water and Sanitation for all by 2030. The theme for this years World Water Day is Water for Peace.

This week our Green School Committee members collaborated in researching and creating a presentation for all classes about World Water Day and how we can conserve water in school and at home. Well done to the committee members who presented this insightful information today.

The Green School Committee members supported by our 5th class pupils took part in the ‘Walk for Water’ mini event today where they carried water on a walk around the yard to raise awareness for those around the world who have to walk long distances every day to access water.

These events marked today are part of our efforts towards achieving our Green School Water Flag. Well done to all who participated.
